In Marge Piercy’s poem, Coming up on September, she writes, “Now is the time to reflect upon what I have done and undone, what I must let go with the waning days and what I must take in. With the last tomatoes, we harvest the fruit of our lives.”
We cannot deny that we too are approaching September. Our back to school and other Fall routines are quite different this year. Nevertheless, Rosh Hashanah approaches, impelling each of us to embrace introspection and growth.
In this time of reflection, we invite you to engage in this sacred season with our Temple Beth-El community:
Join us for Shofar for Hope where we will gather outdoors around the state to hear the clarion call of the ram’s horn together.
We will also look forward to gathering at a local orchard the Sunday before Rosh Hashanah, where we will pick apples to dip in honey as we pray for sweetness in 5781.

What to Expect When You Are Expecting the High Holy Days During a Pandemic Tuesday, September 1 4:00 PM
What will services be like this year? How will I hear Avinu Malkeinu and Kol Nidre? If I can not celebrate surrounded by my community, will these days still be what I need them to be? As the High Holy Days approach, we all find ourselves filled with questions and feelings we never expect to have. Join Rabbi Mack, Cantor Seplowin and Judy Moseley
Come with your questions or send them to info@temple-beth-el.org.
Celebrate 5781 with Temple Beth-El for an outdoor shofar blowing.
To insure that we do not exceed the state guidelines for gathering and for contact tracing, we ask that you register in advance for these activities. Details will be emailed to registered participants.
