Engaging our youth in meaningful ways is a major part of our Temple Beth-El community. We provide social activities for students to spend time together in and outside of Religious School.
TBE Teens Night (Grades 7-12)
Students in Grades 7-12 are invited to come on Thursday evenings from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. for TBE Teens Night. Students will have the chance to engage with peers and learn skills that will enhance their daily lives through a Jewish lens. Students in Grade 7 will have Hebrew learning for the first half of the evening. Dinner included!
L'Taken Social Justice Seminar (Grades 10-12)
Students in Grades 10-12 will travel to Washington D.C, March 13-16, 2026, to learn about social justice concerns through a Jewish lens with the URJ's Religious Action Center. The experience culminates with a trip to Capitol Hill to lobbying some of our elected officials. The cost is $500. Scholarship is available. Space is limited.
PROVTY (Grades 8-12)
Temple Beth-El’s High School Youth Group, led by teens for teens in Grades 8-12
provides a venue for Jewish teens to meet and develop friendships in a Jewish setting.
NFTY Northeast (Grades 9-12)
The North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY) is a movement
that builds strong, welcoming, inspired communities through teen-powered engagement.
Together, they pursue tikkun olam, personal growth, youth empowerment,
and deep connections, all rooted in Reform Judaism. NFTY’s Northeast Region includes Connecticut (excluding Fairfield County), Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, upstate New York and Montreal, Canada.
