Please notice the changed time of the Friday evening Shabbat service, and read the Shabbat Message for a security update given the events of the past week.
Words fail in this moment of heartbreak and loss. As we have been glued to news coverage of the atrocities and suffering in Israel all week, Shabbat comes as a welcome friend. Carrying the weight of this brutality and devastation together is one small way we can weather the utter heaviness of this time in our world. Join us this Friday evening as we raise our voices in prayer and gather in community to hold one another up and remember that we are not alone.
Please feel free to be in direct contact with us that we may continue to hold space to process the ongoing situation.
L’shalom, Sarah, Preston and Judy
Security Update: As has been reported by the media, a threat was called into Temple Beth-El earlier this week. It was handled quickly, decisively, and seamlessly by our team and by our incredible partners in the Providence police department. There is no safety concern at this time, and we are grateful for the care and support of the community. For any questions about safety and security, please be in touch with Joie at jmagnone@temple-beth-el.org.
Resources: Many of you have asked for ways to help. Here are a few things you can do in this moment:
Write to our Congressional delegation to thank them for their continued support of Israel and request their continued attention to this essential matter.
7 p.m. Shabbat Service This service will be held in the sanctuary and be led by Rabbi Mack, Rabbi Neimeiser, and Cantor Seplowin. Join in person or on livestream. JOIN LIVESTREAM
