5782 will be a year that challenges and reunites us. The Rabbi Leslie Yale Gutterman Religious School year is upon us, and we are so excited to lead students and faculty through another joyous year.
From pre-kindergarten to graduating high school students, RLYGRS wants to meet our students and families where they are. Our faculty is hard at work planning a year of fun activities, art, music, stories and games that center around Shabbat prayer and Jewish values. How do we access traditions and make them our own? How can we share the joys of our people and work to make the world a better place?
We are grateful for our Medical Advisory Committee who have recommended that we can have school in-person this year. Here is an overview of our plans:
We intend to learn together, in-person, masked at all times.
We will be using the tent and Lower Patio more frequently than many of our classrooms (weather dependent).
When we are in our classrooms, the windows will be open.
Drop-off and pick-up will be outdoors on Orchard Ave.
During school hours, Temple Beth-El will be closed to all non-school personnel to keep our students and faculty safe.
As we near our first day, the anticipation of students in hallways, singing during t’filah and reconvening as a community is palpable. We cannot wait to rekindle old friendships, make new ones, and set off down a new road together. Families will receive more information directly from the Education Team in the following days detailing classes, Small Group Hebrew assignments, etc.
גְּמַר חֲתִימָה טוֹבָה G’mar Chatimah Tovah! May we all be sealed in the Book of Life!
