As we navigate the pause mandated by state officials, we remain available to take your calls during business hours at 401-331-6070.
If you need to pick something up or drop something off at Temple, we ask that you call first so that we can safely accommodate your needs. All staff are working regular hours and checking email and voicemail.
Message from Judy Moseley
I wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Of all our holidays in the U.S., this is the American holiday I like the best. As a secular holiday, it belongs to everyone who calls the U.S.A. home, regardless of religion or ethnicity. It’s about remembering what we are thankful for – whether that means being grateful for one’s family, friends, situation, health – you get to pick. It’s about coming together with people you care about (or deliberately spending it by yourself because that’s the recharge you need!). It’s about eating, resting, and being officially allowed to relax. There is no doubt about it, the year 2020 has been difficult for many of us: COVID, the economy, racial tensions, learning and working remotely and the election. This year has certainly been challenging but it has also brought an awareness of all that needs to be appreciated.
As Frederick Nietzsche said, “that which does not kill you makes you stronger.” Perhaps we can hope to be stronger, better people after what we have endured this past year.
I know we all have a significant amount to complain, worry and stress about. Let me suggest making your own “Thanks-Giving” List instead - it might make you rethink things and help you find your happy place again.
This Thanksgiving, I am grateful for my loving and growing family. And I’m grateful for TBE as my Jewish home.
