Even while social distancing, know that we are working to find ways to remain spiritually connected. At the current moment, the Temple building and front office are open for business remotely, although our physical space is not available. All staff and clergy are available and working from home. An email to info@temple-beth-el.org will enable us to connect you appropriately if you have questions. Or feel free to reach us individually, addresses below.
Just because we are not gathering in person, does not mean that we are not here for you and each other. Please consider joining our online minyan and/or a class via Zoom (an online video meeting platform that also has a call-in option). Pop-Up Torah will enable us to share our wisdom and expertise with each other, across our Rhode Island Jewish Community! Stay tuned for information about classes and let us know if you have some “torah” to share!
Our staff, clergy and leadership will be reaching out by phone to the entire congregation just to check in. If you have an immediate concern or just want to say hello, you may reach us at the emails below or by calling 331-6070 and dialing “9”.
Below is some update information for our services and events:

Seders: Brotherhood Seder, Sisterhood Seder, and Second Seder are all canceled.
B’nei Mitzvah: Since we have several weeks before our next celebration, we have some time to consider possibilities going forward. We are committed to being flexible and creative, and anyone with a question should contact Rabbi Mack or Cantor Seplowin directly. We will be in touch shortly regarding tutoring and ongoing preparation.
Daily Minyan: We will Livestream minyan each day using Zoom. To participate in Minyan Click Here .
Religious School: Per CDC recommendations, we will not be able to convene Religious School for the rest of the year. We recognize that there is already a great deal of pressure to do home schooling and want to be part of the solution, not increase your stress. With that in mind, we will continue to provide online resources for families to connect at their convenience.
For those families in Small Group Hebrew, we are confident that your children will be prepared to lead the congregation in worship at their b’nei mitzvah celebrations in the future, and are not concerned if they do not meet with teachers regularly. We recommend that students use the links provided to practice their Hebrew at home. If you would like to have remote instruction with a Hebrew teacher, please email Rachel by the end of the week and she will connect you – we are happy to provide that resource should you feel you can fit it in to your new routine.
Pastoral Care: The CDC has recommended voluntary visits to hospitals and nursing homes be curtailed. Our clergy will be available for pastoral care via phone and Facetime. Please contact them by email or call the emergency line by calling the office 401-331-6070 and then pressing #9.
Funerals, Shiva, and Other Life Cycle Events: Please contact our emergency line by calling the office 401-331-6070 and then pressing #9. Email is the best way to communicate with staff.
Adult Learning and Torah Study: We will do our best to host classes online via Zoom. To participate Click Here.
