What Can You Do In Just 15 Minutes?
Daily Minyan Saturday-Thursday at 5:45 PM in the Herman L Bennett Chapel.
How often do we wonder where our days have gone or what we have accomplished? It is so easy to lose precious hours watching TV, reading a good book, playing video games or texting with friends. Every night (with the exception of Shabbat) a lay individual from our congregation leads our Minyan Service held at 5:45 p.m. in the Herman L. Bennett Chapel? Conducting this fifteen-minute service is a mitzvah. Those walking through the doors of this intimate space are delighted to see a fellow congregant standing behind the podium, ready to lead them in prayer. They enjoy the opportunity to introduce themselves and see that their loved one’s name is read that particular evening. Dating back to 1955, our daily minyan is the oldest in the Reform movement. Not only does it fulfill the important mitzvah of helping others recite the Mourners Kaddish, but it is also a wonderful way to open our hearts and minds, welcoming God’s presence into our lives. I am sharing this with you because we need more people to come forward and learn how to conduct the short service, adding to the roster of those who participate on a regular or substitute basis. We also invite you to call the Temple Beth-El office, at 401-331-6070, with the names of your dearly departed to be read at our services.
If you are interested in sharing this meaningful ritual, please e-mail TBEMinyan@temple-beth-el.org for more information.

Kadima: Moving Forward Through Conversation Thursday, February 6, 2020
Kadima (also known as matkot in Israel) is a beach game where a small ball is lobbed back and forth incessantly and intensely with paddles. It also means “forward!” Participants in this monthly learning experience will engage in a similarly intense conversation that embraces nuance and complexity of Israel’s challenges and accomplishments. Join us for a deep dive into Israel’s past, present and future that honors multiple voices and perspectives. Participants need no prior knowledge, just a willingness to join in conversation and to learn from our sources and each other.
