This week, as we commemorated Yom HaZikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut, singer/songwriter Noah Aronson, released a song co-written with his friend, Noam Sender. Noah writes: “When Noam initially sent me the lyrics, written only one week after the attacks, I was amazed not only by the way he wove our Jewish sacred texts into his original lyrics but also by their hopefulness in such a raw moment…so we share this with you today…in the hopes that it honors all the lives that have been lost and allows us all to continue to strive for an enduring and lasting peace.”
Rabbi Menachem Creditor (composer of the beloved “Olam Chesed Yibane”) shared his review: “This stunning song by Noah Aronson should be sung in every Jewish gathering this year. It feels like a spiritual anthem for this moment. Grateful for my dear friend’s prodigious musical skill, his text wisdom (this original song contains an ingenious weave of poems and songs with deep memory), and his beautiful voice. I needed this. We all do. Am Yisrael Chai!”
I hope both the melody and the message bring you hope and solace.
