Purim and its frivolity was only slightly dampened by the weather. Many of you braved the rain to enjoy the carnival, spiel and perhaps Shushan After Dark with karaoke! And if that weren’t enough community engagement, we were so fortunate to host Dan Nichols as artist-in-residence this past weekend. Leading services with Dan and clergy from other Reform synagogues was such a joy. I hope you felt the strength of our community
as we welcomed congregants from all the Rhode Island Reform synagogues during our annual Joint Reform Shabbat.
Religious School Tefila consisted of a potpourri of inspirational musicians and an enthusiastic congregation. In addition to Dan Nichols and our dedicated TBE teen house band, we were joined by New England songleaders participating in SPRONC (Spring Conclavette) and special guests, HaZamir Jerusalem, conducted by Nitzan Tzyon Shohaam, Israeli composer, arranger, and conductor. Their angelic voices executed 4-part harmony with such intention and beauty, including an arrangement of “Acheinu*,” a prayer for freeing captives. For me, this was a special, emotional moment during tefila.
I’m so grateful for our community. I look forward to celebrating Passover Second Seder with many of you.
