“Arise, my darling; My fair one, come away! For now the winter is past, The rains are over and gone. The blossoms have appeared in the land, The time of pruning has come; The song of the turtledove Is heard in our land… (Song of Songs 2:10-12)
These beautiful words from our Passover tradition remind me of the beautiful spring weather, the blooming daffodils and tulips that burst out of gardens and along parts of the highway, the busy birdsong during the morning walk with my dog. These days, a little hope and inspiration can be a balm to the soul.
Another source of inspiration was our recent guest, Professor Paul Liptz, social historian and retired lecturer from Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem. If you missed his presentation during April 14th’s Lunch n Learn, please enjoy the link that is attached for your consideration. Rabbi Mack and I were fortunate to study with Professor Liptz (30 years ago for me!) and his first-hand experience in Israel for the last 55 years is poignant and meaningful.
