“La yehudim hayta orah v’simcha v’sasson vikar!” (Esther 8:16) The Jews had light, joy, gladness and honor!
Our Temple Beth-El Purim spielers are rehearsing at full throttle to bring joy and light to our community when they hit the stage on March 16th at 7 PM with “And All That Spiel - a Broadway Purim Spectacular!”
Our house parodist, Steven Dulude, has whipped up an original retelling of the Story of Esther that will literally blow your groggers to pieces! Details to follow soon about how to attend/watch. We will continue our festive Purim celebratory antics at a 12 PM Zoom on Thursday, March 17, to experience Cantor Jeff Klepper’s funny, challenging and provocative “Songs You Never Learned in Shul: Humor in Jewish Music.” Cantor Klepper joined us last year for our Joint Reform Shabbat and I hope you’ll help me welcome, once again, one of the Reform movement’s most inspirational leaders to Beth-El.
B’shira (in song), Judy Seplowin

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Congregants, You most likely received a communication from the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) late last week with the release of the report of the independent ethics investigation into sexual harassment, abuse, and misconduct at the URJ iincluding youth programs and summer camps. You can access the previously sent email and ethics report here. We wanted to acknowledge this painful report and reassure you that our clergy and professional staff stand by ready to process this report and answer questions about our own policy. Temple Beth-El has always adhered to the most stringent best practices in the field and will use this moment as an opportunity to review our policies. Wishing you a shabbat shalom, Tonya and Sarah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Even though we may not complete the work, neither are we free to desist from it.” (Pirkei Avot 2:16) Even as we come to the end of Black history month, we acknowledge that our community’s work for racial justice must continue.
