As our sages teach: Mi sh’nichnas Adar marbin b’simchah (Ta’anit 29a). When Adar enters, joy increases. When the sounds of students laughing and learning return to the halls of Temple Beth-El, our joy increases. We remain optimistic that our weekly in-person gathering will continue until the end of the school year and are committed to following our safety protocols.
5782 is a special year, a leap year. We have an extra month in Adar II affording us the opportunity to grow our joy into exuberance. We look back at recent Adars and remember the quickly changing landscape of our world. This year we look toward a more joyous future. As we read in Migilat Esther “Lah Yihudim haitah orah v'simchah v’sason vikar.” The Jews enjoyed light and gladness, happiness and honor (Esther 8:16). So too, may it be with us. Shabbat Shalom
