Dear Friend, At the Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island, we raise more money for the community on Super Sunday than on any other day of the year. Super Sunday is when our community joins together to raise the funds needed to support and strengthen our Jewish community in Rhode Island, in Israel, and around the world. As our community’s leaders, I hope you will join us in making this day our most impactful yet. This year’s Super Sunday will be on September 15th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Jewish Alliance. Jennifer and Michael Oelbaum are chairing this year’s event. We look to you to help ensure that we reach as many community members as possible and give them the opportunity to support our community financially. There are so many ways to help us on that day, from making phone calls, to writing thank you notes, to calling past donors to thank them for their generosity. Now is YOUR chance to get your agency/synagogue/institution together to show community solidarity. We are pleased to announce the return of the Organization Challenge! We are offering a $500 award towards development, education, and/or training to the organization or synagogue that has the greatest number of volunteer participants! Come by for an hour or for the whole day. Free babysitting will be available for children of volunteers who preregister. There will be other activities throughout the event – stay tuned for more information on this. I am also thrilled to announce that David and Carol Bazarsky have once again offered a matching gift, up to $10,000, for any new or increased gift made on Super Sunday! Please consider increasing your gift on Super Sunday so we can get these matching funds to benefit the community.
