Our June Rosh Chodesh evening promises to offer fascinating data about Providence and good conversation. We welcome guest speaker Betsy Shimberg, who is an Associate Dean of the College and Interim Director of the Swearer Center for Public Service at Brown University, where she has worked in numerous roles since 2012. Betsy will present a workshop that she developed at Brown, called “Providence: Many Stories.” She will offer demographic and statistical data about Providence, our magnificent capital city. Then, we will reflect on the data and consider how we might tell a richer and more complex story about Providence than data alone can offer.
