Message from Clergy & Senior Staff November 17, 2017 - 28 Cheshvan, 5778

In this Thanksgiving season, we aspire to be generous and thoughtful with both friends and family. But the Torah teaches that our generosity must extend beyond those familiar doors; to our neighbors who we may not know, to our neighbors who we may disagree with, and to our neighbors whose dress and appearance may be different from our own. In this season of gratitude and peace, let us remember to open our doors ever wider so that all of our neighbors may feel included and blessed by the spirit of the holiday.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Message from Rachel Mersky Woda & Joie Magone November 24, 2017 - 6 Kislev,  5778

We both love Thanksgiving!  It takes some of our favorite things like family and food, and puts them all together reminding us to be grateful for the wonderful things in our lives. Our youngest students have learned this important value of being grateful by singing Modeh Ani which is the prayer we say each morning giving thanks for a new day.

This is also when we start to seriously think about Hanukkah which begins in a mere 18 days. Hanukkah is a celebration of religious freedom, spreading light and cultivating hope.

With all of this in mind, we would like to take a moment and thank our staff, faculty, students, families and the congregation at large for all that they do to bring light to our lives.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Joie & Rachel
