B地ei Mitzvah

We are proud that our religious school inspires many families to join Beth-El and we work diligently to provide thoughtful instruction in Judaism to all our students.  More than 250 children, youth and teens are enrolled in our religious school, and many of our students, after confirmation, serve as teachers’ aides.  In the fall of first grade, a consecration ceremony recognizes the students’ introduction to a formal religious school education.  Twice-weekly Hebrew classes begin in third grade to prepare students to become bar or bat mitzvah.  Students in their sophomore year of high school are confirmed, and post-confirmation students continue their religious school education that culminates in high school graduation.

Our faculty is committed to learning, planning and challenging each other in search for answers to what best promotes and builds community. We hope that promoting Jewish learning and living inspires our students and families beyond the scope of the religious school curriculum.  We are blessed with many inspiring and committed teachers who are involved with our school.  They include Anita Steiman, our dedicated principal; our clergy: Rabbi Gutterman, Rabbi Mack, and Cantor Seplowin, and our professional teaching staff, many of whom are veteran teachers.
