Members of the Benefactors Planning Committee sponsor special Benefactors Evenings for the congregation.

entertainment that our members might not have the
opportunity to hear or see elsewhere. |
| Cemetery
Oversight |
To maintain
the dignity and sanctity of the final resting place of Temple Beth-El
members through the proper management and operation of the Temple’s
cemetery on Reservoir Avenue. A brief history

| Charitable Gift Planning |
Manages the use of large charitable donations for the greatest beneift to the Temple. |
| College
Outreach |
Funded by the Temple Beth-El Sisterhood, this committee serves
as a connection between young college adults and their home congregation,
Temple Beth-El. Our hope is to provide one more component in a combined
effort to help our children maintain their Jewish identity. |
| Communication
Advisory Board |
To work
with staff to help coordinate written communications to members, including
oversight of the Temple’s web page. This committee was established
last year. |
| Daily Minyan |
Daily Minyan Committee members are present in
our chapel, six evenings each week to serve as a minyan to
say Kaddish for the departed and to offer solace and
companionship to the bereaved. Temple members may call us
with the names of those dearly departed to be read at the
conclusion of services. We welcome all who may be
interested to join us. Check our schedule: Worship Services Schedule. Please note: Between Shavuot and the conclusion of Simchat Torah, the Torah Daily Minyan service is held seven days a week at 5:45 p.m. (There is no 7:45 p.m. service on Fridays during this time.) |
| Financial |
There
are several committees that deal with the Temple finances, including
the Budget and Finance committees. Together, they oversee the Temple finances. |
| Fine Arts |
The acquisition and preservation of art to enhance
the beauty of our temple is the provenance of the Fine
Arts Committee. We are proud of the
acquisitions we have commissioned and purchased
through the generosity of our temple donors. On
occasion, we arrange for artists to speak to the
congregation about their works. |
| Hineinu |
Arranges visits to elderly or infirm congregants in need of companionship. |
| House
Policies |
Provides
oversight of the Temple’s building and grounds. |
| Investment |
Manages the Temple's investments. |
| William
G. Braude Library |
The Temple Library houses
one of the largest and most extensive Judaic collections. The Committee
works with the librarian to promote, maintain, and raise funds for
the library. |
| Membership |
Helps
recruit and integrate new members and helps retain existing membership. |
| Interfaith Family Outreach |
Reaches
out to couples in an interfaith partnership or marriage. This is a
newly revitalized committee. |
| The
School Board |
Oversees
the largest Reform religious school in the community and the largest
Jewish educational institution in the state. The committee works with
professional staff to help set policies, curriculum, and fundraising
events. |
| Social
Action |
Brings
to our congregation opportunities to work towards fulfillment of the
Jewish mandate for social justice. |
| Helen
Donig Talking Books |
Provides
books on tapes for blind and handicapped “readers”. The
tapes are aired via Insight closed-circuit radio and RI Access TV.
The are also available through our Temple’s Braude Library. |
| Ushers |
Enables
the worship services and special programs to run smoothly and efficiently. |
| Young
Families & K'Tan Tan |
Provides
opportunities for families to participate in activities at Temple
Beth-El that help our younger members gain an understanding of Shabbat
and other Jewish holidays in fun and welcoming ways. There are two
components; school-aged dinners and Shabbat services, and K'Tan Tan,
programs for children under five years of age. |
